Article Submission Tips – Spelling, How Important Is It?

today's tip

When submitting articles to an Articles Directory it is crucial that you check your spelling, nothing sticks out quite so much like a sore thumb to the the reader of your article as poor spelling.

Grammar, Punctuation and Composition are all very important but the first thing a reader will notice are those spelling mistakes and not only the more mundane typos such as ‘fro’ instead of ‘for’ or ‘frie’ as opposed to ‘fire’ but those errors in spelling which are common, such as putting ‘e’ before ‘i’  when it should be the other way around I.E. ‘freind’ in place of ‘friend’ or even visa verse.  As authors perhaps we need to take a lesson from the carpenters handbook, which states “measure twice, cut once”  perhaps we should say “spellcheck twice, before submitting”.

Submitting articles which have not been thoroughly checked for spelling errors is a sure way to find your work being rejected by the editorial staffs of most directories. I truth with most directories providing wysiwyg word processor input boxes with built in spellcheck capabilities there is no real excuse for submitting articles with spelling errors.
